Stopping of water seepages through dam

Situation:
The water reservoir serves as a drinking water source for the local town and its surrounding. Water seepages under the body of dam (in the bedrock) had been occurring for a long time. In the spring 2003, seepages reached 150 l/s. The situation turned to emergency state and it was necessary to lower permanently the water level in the reservoir. The project was realized in autumn 2003, water seepages were reduced to 10 l/s from the original 150 l/s. For the grouting works, Geopur 082/350, 90 materials and Supermin silicate material were used. Final complementary insulation of the dam was performed in the spring of 2004. GME Consult supplied material, technology and design.
